Back on track... 2 years ago

well, I pulled my back between by shoulder blades a week and a half ago, and then when I thought it was better, I started back on the workout and pulled it again. So, now I have waited a week with absolutely no stress on my back and it is feeling totally normal and I am back on track. I am currently at 169.5 lbs. and need to get to about 160 by the end of the month. I am back on it and determined to get my 6 pack by October 31. I WILL DO THIS!!!

I have a lot of work to do, especially since I lost most of last week with pulled back muscles and so on. My back is feeling pretty good, and I plan on stretching a bit more before and after. So, I’m back on it today. It was my birthday this weekend, and my wife made lasagna, which went “straight to my love handles”. But I am determined to rip up this stomach by Halloween! I’m narrowing my focus, gritting my teeth, and going to make it happen.



I'm working on sprints a little differently... 2 years ago

There is a hill at the end of my street that is steep on one side, and somewhat level on the other. I warm up with a light 5 minute job, then sprint up the hill and jog down, sprint up, jog down, and so on until my chest can’t expand enough to get the oxygen my body is crying out for. I jog lightly until my breathing comes back down enough to hit it again. I zig zag up and down the hill from one end to the other until I pretty much collapse. It takes about 20 minutes total, 3 to 4 times a week. The end of the week will be telling as to how effective this really is on the old waistline.

I pulled some muscles in my back this morning. They’ve been a bit tight for about a week, and I figured it was going to go at some point. In never fails, every time I start moving forward with my health and development, I inevitably hurt myself early on. However, I will not stop, I may slow down so that I don’t hurt myself more, but I must move along.

I can’t believe my lack of self control this week. What is it? I ate at McDonalds AND Wendy’s today. Dude, I am in this food shoveling mood. Is it fall? the weather? What? Tomorrow, I am going to fast, and put together a meal plan and stick to it. The weight is still in the low 170’s, and I’d like it to be lower by the EOW, at least below 170 by Friday. The abs are definately coming along, but so is the fat! Well, off to do some sprints/jog type cardio! I guess today was my floating binge. I suck, but not for long.

Well, leave it to a Browns/Ravens game party to kill any will power you have and leave you fat and fatter still. Hork almighty. So, since this is my goal and I intend to accomplish it, I’m only allowing myself 3 free days in the month of October – the 6th, my birthday, the 31rst, Halloween, of coarse, and one other day for what ever reason. The rest of the month will be strict diet, low fat, moderate carbs and good protein, high fiber and so on. I can feel the abs growing, it’s just the fat that needs to go.

I did 5 workouts this past week, and I am worn out! But I feel good. In fact, I think I’d be in a great place if it weren’t for that TUB OF ICE CREAM I ate. I have such a weakness for the icy, creamy, deliciousness that is so fattening. I can feel the abs growing, and see some improvement, but theres a nice layer of fat that just crept up over the last few days due directly to my ice cream intake. Crap! It’ll take a few days to get back to where I was getting. SUCK! Oh well, Just more cardio for me, I guess.

I think I can see the faint line under all the tummy fat. It looks like I might be on the verge of a 4 pack, if I can lose some fat and keep building the muscle, I may see some shape developing. There is a definate ab running down the middle, I just need to start subdividing it. hahahaha.

Started today. ONly 6 exercised, and yet I broke a sweat and only barely finished. Wow, I am out of shape. But it feels good to feel weak and wobbly. Weakness is the door to strength. You cannot become strong until you confront your weakness head on.

Well, I did the 300 workout in full yesterday, and I am paying for it today. I think it was the 30 pull ups that got me. My neck, back, chest, and abs all hurt nicely. I’ll hit again monday.
