  • for safe travel in wintry weather
  • for a thoughtful thing done by a friend
  • for the chance to take some time for myself

  • cooked & ate healthy food
  • found a good deal on a bicycle
  • wrote an e-mail I didn’t want to write

Gratitude:

  • for the friendship (& flexibility) of my carpool colleague
  • for my strong visual memory & my ability to explain things well
  • for supper out, unexpectedly, with my spouse, after we both had worked late

Did Wells:

  • was able to be a good listener for a friend
  • maintained better focus, workflow, & time management today
  • handled a somewhat awkward situation at work today quite well

Gratitude:

  • for safe travel despite the snow (& later, the freezing rain, sleet, non-freezing rain, etc.)
  • for time spent with friends (in person, on the phone, & online)
  • that I received some positive feedback on my work

Did Wells:

  • focused attention on one task at a time
  • managed workflow throughout the day
  • (mostly) managed to “be here now”

Gratitude:

  • for a busy-but-good day at work
  • for an unexpected letter from my folks
  • for the chance to eat supper with a friend

Did Wells:

  • worked efficiently at a task I would rather not have done,
  • performed at a high standard despite feeling resistance,
  • & completed it in less time than I thought I’d need! yay

Gratitude:

  • for sunshine today, rather than the promised snowstorm
  • for the chance to play board games with friends
  • for time to read & nap & watch the game on TV

Did Wells:

  • prepared healthy & tasty food
  • continued to care for my spouse (who’s better, but still not well)
  • took care of some details & planning for the busy week upcoming

Gratitude:

  • for the pleasant & competent woman who gives my allergy shots
  • that the predicted snowstorm didn’t hit (or hasn’t yet, anyway!)
  • for the chance to play board games with friends

Did Wells:

  • prepared healthy & tasty food
  • took care of some time-sensitive items
  • cared for my spouse (who isn’t feeling well)

Gratitude:

  • for the new music that I’m listening to
  • that the meeting I’d been dreading is over
  • for some nicer weather this week (more light!)

  • was well prepared, calm, & focused
  • (outwardly) maintained my composure under stress
  • moved beyond my comfort zone to be true to my beliefs
