Finally(!) able to book lodging for holiday travel.

Chatted with my sister this evening, coordinating our plans for hotel & rental car. It will be nice to see her & her husband. smile

Investigated lodging options in the area where my grandmother lives (they are very limited & therefore quite expensive). We may have to stay a bit further away, driving over daily, in order to get good value for the money. (It also depends whether we’ll be sharing lodging with my sister & her husband.)

Confirmed the house-sitter.

A very frustrating web-site & an even more frustrating wait on the toll-free number, but in the end, very good service (delivered with a charming Anglo-Indian accent) & a good price on our holiday “travel package.”

My sis wrote back, giving me an idea of their possible travel dates, which is helpful & frustrating all at the same time: helpful to have them (at least tentatively) so early, frustrating that they’re so different from the travel dates we’ll likely have. wry grin

I’ve made the first phone call & written the first e-mails to begin planning a visit during December to the relatives Out West. I’m trying to coordinate things so that we can have an “extra” visit with my sister & her husband (either before or after seeing the rest of the family). smile

to consider this done—or at least, as done as it’s going to be! grin Now I can focus on my new goal: “enjoy this vacation to the fullest!” smile
