be gentle with myself

Enjoyed a manicure & pedicure (spoiling myself!). grin

Taking antibiotics & pain meds for a tooth-crown issue (arising at a time when I can’t get in to see the dentist, of course): I expect I’ll be sleeping most of the weekend…. wry grin

Today I treated myself to a nail polish change; I again chose the metallic copper color for both finger & toe nails. They look great! smile

I took gentle care of myself with a nice nap after supper, pacing myself so that I could manage my responsibilities on a busy day.

Enjoyed a facial & a manicure/pedicure (spoiling myself!). grin

I was grinning to myself as I considered all the places I might put this entry….

• It could be “new shoes for vacation!” or
• It could be “new shoes for walking!” or
• It could be “new shoes to take care of myself”

& that (the latter) is what I decided on!

I had to order them online (not preferred for something – like shoes – that needs to be tried on!), since no local bricks-&-mortar stores are bothering to carry the ones I need (ASICS Gel-Cardio II women’s walking shoes). wry grin They should be here by Friday, though, so I’ll get to check them out soon. smile

I’ve scheduled a facial as a treat to myself for my birthday (“in the future ago”)! grin

... but I’ve got poison ivy/poison oak! yuck

At first I was blaming the itchy red blotches on scratches from a cat, but now it’s pretty clearly a reaction to the toxins of a plant (maybe when I was clearing weeds in the back yard the other day). sigh

It took the allergy shot technician administering my shot on Monday & the skin care technician giving me my facial on Tuesday – both of them having the identical reaction: “oh, poor you! where did you get into the poison ivy/poison oak?” – to convince me what it is. wry grin

So now I have a really good excuse to be gentle to myself. LOL
