Sigh. MY DAD. He is 58 and has been chasing his dreams for like 40 years! Always trying to IMPRESS people with name dropping and likes to put the regular “working man” down.
Has nothing to his name and goes through broke periods which makes me sad and angry. I love him alot.
He works in the music industry on and off and wants to be a pilot and also works in construction to make ends meet in the really lean times. Well nowadays times are really lean for him. He won’t say anything and he likes to pretend everything is fine. He thinks that by being success in the music industry will bring him respect from “them” , those who said he could never do it, but what he doesn’t know is that his daughter doens’t care and is not impressed with his pride or aspirations. I would been happy to have a dad who didn’t go thru countless jobs, kept STABLE, never got his family evicted and kept his marriage together. A father that was a PROVIDER not a dreamer.
Ironic how a new CD he is on with a well known musician just got nominated for a GRAMMY, but he still doesn’t even have 2 nickels to rub together. How does this happen!??
I just wish I could sit him down and have him listen to me without arguing or getting defensive. I have told myself the last few times I have seen him that i’d try, but it never happens.
