become fluent in another language

almost done!

Ok, so here’s the deal. There are so many languages that I think would be awesome to learn…especially having been to the countries where they are the official lanugage!
Regardless of how hard they are to learn, I’d love to learn German, Italian, or French. Honestly I’m not really interested in being fluent in Spanish, even though its rapidly becoming more and more common in America.
The other thing is…I’m going to start nursing school in the fall, and I know that becoming fluent in Spanish would probably be the best choice, but..I don’t want to! lol. I have to take two semesters of a language, and the other 3 I’d like to learn are all offered at my school.I wanted to start French in high school, but my mom wouldn’t let me because she said it wouldn’t be useful in life.
What do you think? Should I suck it up and learn Spanish? Or take one I really want to…regardless of if I’d only get to use it in its country…The other factor is that I’m a singer, and German, French and Italian are (as far as I’ve sung) the most common foreign languages that we sing in when it comes to classical music and opera. So that would help.
