I heard Fairbanks, Alaska is a good place to see the Northern Lights. Best time to go is March/April or September/October. I’m thinking of waiting til Sept/Oct so I can save up some cash. Flights from Newark to Fairbanks (with stops in Chicago and Anchorage) seem to run in the $600-$800 range.
