find a mentor

I’ve been talking to my sensei recently, about all the crap going on at home, and being worried about spending the summer at home, and he offered to let me stay at his place for 2-3 days if it ever gets too much for me. I’m just so totally floored by his offer, I wasn’t even expecting him to offer anything like that (nor did I even plan on asking.) But yea…so at least I now have a place to stay if it all goes to shit.

So I had previously thought I had found someone. But it didn’t really work out. He has a lot on his plate (he’s working on his Phd, and after this year, he’s done with classes and is starting to write his thesis, so basically he’s busy.) So it kinda sucks. But I’ll be fine. I’m gonna see if I can find that sort of relationship with someone else. I basically do already with my sensei, I just don’t get a whole lot of time to talk to him outside the dojo. Whatever, que sera, sera.

Well, the teacher I emailed got back to me, and we had a chat yesterday. I had been planning on asking him if I could come back once and a while, but I didn’t even have to do that. In the middle of the conversation he told me that he would be happy to be someone to talk to and that I could drop by whenever. is bubbly and happy

I had a mentor of sorts in High School, she helped me through a lot of things during that point in my life. But now that i’m at a different stage I find our relationship has changed and she has given me all she had to offer. Though now I am faced with a new set of issues, career issues and the like, and I need a mentor. I have sent an email to a teacher in college that I trust and respect, but I have yet to hear back from him. So it remains to be seen.
