Master "Orient Blue" on guitar

As per my schedule, Orient Blue will be divided as such:

Day 1: measure 8 (15 mins), measure 33 phrase (10 mins), measure 75 phrase (5 mins), measure 27 (5 mins), measure 46 to 47 (5 mins), measure 66 to 67 (5 mins), measure 74 to 75 assimilation (5 mins), assimilation (10 mins).

Day 2: measure 8 phrase (10 mins), measure 33 (10 mins), measure 58 (5 mins), measure 55 to 62 (5 mins), measure 27 (5 mins), measure 46 to 47 (5 mins), measure 66 to 67 (5 mins), measure 74 to 75 assimilation (5 mins), assimilation (10 mins).

The transitioning between these two measures may need more work. Investigate.

For transitioning from the E string to the B string via economy picking in this measure, it is very important to maintain a forty-five degree (approx.) angle of the pick. If this angle becomes slightly lax then it would seem that the picking is a lot more difficult to control.

More work is needed on: measure 27, measure 70 (plus transitioning from 69), transitioning from 74 to 75 – and also review phrase at measure 75.

The transitioning from the E to B string at the start of this measure should be made with the wrist and the forearm movements combined. The problems were occuring before when I would not use enough forearm motion to move the pick up to the next string. I am playing these two strings using economy picking.

Aim to keep the top two strings ringing after they have been played in this phrase.

Work on this measure at a slower tempo.

I previously wrote about muting the open A string (which is how I have been practicing it), but on the Guitar Pro tab all the notes are supposed to be left to ring throughout the entire piece (precluding some preceded by rests). Being an artist, it is of course my personal choice which way I play it, but I shall review my current approach at some point.

Consider full barre for this entire phrase and other similar situations within the piece.

Make sure string shifting is executed only from elbow.
