WWII Survival Tale of Shoichi Yokoi

Incredible to hear his story of holding out in the jungle for 28 years – the last eight of which were on his own as the few soldiers that were left around him eventually perished in floods.

At least if I do ever end up living in the forest I’d have money to back me up and it wouldn’t be for such a long duration. One of many plans and ideas, mind you… I should have plenty of opportunity to get to where I want to be with music during the course of my twenties.

Wanna Be a Virtuoso? - Go Live in the Woods!

(I decided to post this entry here that I wrote yesterday under “Master the guitar” so it’s not lost in a sea of other entries).

Yes! I am excited and hopeful after I just found a BBC News article which reads:

“Berlin police have appealed for information to help them establish the identity of a teenager who appeared in the city saying that he had been living in the woods for five years”.

“The boy said he and his father did not set up a home, but slept in a tent, and huts they found in the woods. Police say the boy claims he followed his compass and went northwards after his father died, reaching Berlin” – link here.

I have been playing with the idea for quite a long while now that if the situation arises in a few years where accommodation becomes a problem for me, I’m not near my desired skill level on guitar and end up having to get an unrelated, vapid 9-5 job to support myself, then I will instead go live somewhere like a forest for a few years. Hah.

There is no way I will let anything interfere with my music plans and goals. I have to invest so much into this in order for my plans to go as I intend. This is not just in regards to my very deep connection with music and strong desire to immerse and surround myself with it, but because becoming a famous musician is pivotal when it comes to providing opportunity for all my other goals, especially towards world peace. Anything for world peace. Becoming a famous musician – that part of it I have to adhere to.

I happened to be scouring the Internet earlier today before even finding the article in order to find suitable materials that might help with such a lifestyle. I have also done a lot of pondering and calculations on things like food, water, Internet access, electricity / solar power, hazards, researching tents (and insulation), etc. over the last year or so.

If it were to happen, it would not be until a couple more years and only for a few years. It’d be funny if I report back to you all on 43T, posting on my daily adventures in the forest in a few years’ time. xD Mostly though so I can continue practising guitar for many hours per day. I also have less ‘austere’ ideas about renting very cheap, shared accommodation, but I have to say though, the idea of living in a national park or something is way more exciting to me than the normal way of life.

As I say, I will make this work, no matter what. Only ALS or death can stop me.

xD

Dom is going to succeed, because Dom has so much power and so much life. xD

Another Piggybacking Idea

Perhaps I can find my ex private guitar teacher that I had over the course of a few months when I was starting out around age fifteen and see what opportunities may become of it – but after my intensive study/practice period.

He also played concerts with a band and, as it happens, was very much into Django Reinhardt too. So he seemed particularly stoked when I revealed to him that I liked Django as well. I wasn’t learning any back then, but he did give me the chord chart for Django’s “Sweet Georgia Brown”.

Publicity Ideas

After the next few years of intense practice, I want to go back to my old school and college and try garner support from my ex-teachers and music students. I will also try to build contacts with ex-music teachers / other music teachers and associate with high-profile people and famous musicians, jostling my way into the music industry. I plan to exploit every opportunity and exhaust every effective means necessary to make this happen, and I can be honest about it in the process. This is not selling out, but building opportunity to be able to actualise more of my art and give more back to people.

Piggybacking Ideas for Publicity

Publicity stunts that are flamboyant, eccentric, outlandish. Doesn’t necessarily have to be something musical. These days you can get in the news for donning a ninja outfit, while trying to instill morals in the minds of the unruly and recalcitrant in society, or building a giant snowman in your back yard.

Publicity Notions

In regards to attending events consisting of scores of people, you could pre-emptively write songs specifically about these events. You can also leave space for lyrical improvisation. The people shall be amused.

Another Publicity Idea

On a busy weekend, you could play outside a music shop like Nevada (especially it being predominantly guitar-oriented). Have personal information like website addresses clearly visible.

Publicity

Take advantage of large gatherings of people, such as scheduled events; particularly ones intended for music revellers.
