I changed this goal to reflect that I want to learn more about the entire practice of yoga – as a spiritual philosophy – rather than simply as a physical exercise.

Have found a class I’m considering checking out. Will give it a go after the holidays (if I can fit the cost into my new budget…)



slacking off week 2 years ago

This week was the last week of classes for me, and a very stressful week at work. It’s probably the one day this week when I should have been certain to practice everyday, but… I haven’t.

Tonight after my cardio I’m planning 30 minutes of yoga.

I’ve added a couple yoga texts to my amazon wish list, so I can start to explore it more fully.

Since I phrased it “take up”, I’m not counting this goal done until I feel that I’m consistent (even if I’m still amateurish) about practicing both yoga and pilates.

Right now, I’m doing yoga opposite the days that I’m walking. I’m liking it. I’m a little sore… but not unreasonably. I must be doing something different this time, because last time that I tried to work physical activity into my days, I wore myself out within the first 14 days.

Anyway, I’m rather enjoying the yoga series that I’ve been doing. When my core muscles are a little stronger, I’ll pull out my pilates workout and alternate them.

I’m a great big wimp, but I really like the feeling of the asanas, even when I can’t do them correctly. They’re definitely something I look forward to working towards.

Ashamedly, after about a week, I dropped down to only doing this about once or twice a week. I really need a yoga/pilates mat before I continue with either of these. I should be able to do that on my next pay check.

Have started doing yoga stretches at night… considering a class, but it depends on time and money. Aiming for a full week of stretching each day.
