Organize my home

looks like someplace I would want to live. It is not only organized but we even cleaned it.
All that is left is the garage and the stuff in the storage unit which will now fit back here.

I just need to get of some dead weight.
About 165 lbs of it.

Trust me I had a lot of stuff but I’m not going to be tossing out all of my worldly possessions. I like my things. My clothes, books, photos, crafting supplies. Plus all the things that make a house a home, kitchen supplies, linens, games & toys, holiday decor. All the things a 44 year old wife would have to run a home with a couple of kids cats and a dog.

time for an update.
I have a new mother’s helper but she is sweet but not the right fit. I’m encouraging her to go back to school. She wants to go to beauty school to cut hair and I think aestheticism is a better bet for her. It’s a shorter program and she will have more job opportunities ( salons, spas and cosmetics surgeons offices.)

Berta got laid off so she started coming by to kick my butt and we got more done in two days then Krissy did in three months.

Also we are going to add onto our house so it will be easier to organize when I have someplace to put stuff rather then just trying to move it from one place to another. :(

We will lose a bit of our backyard but it will be worth it!!
I should take 8 weeks(crossed fingers cause I will not get my naps during this whole time.)

has been coming by on Friday night and Saturday afternoon and these are the worst times for me to get the house in order. McSmarty is in the bedroom sleeping so I can’t get in there to get anything done.
The kids keep trying to take off to their friends houses instead of cleaning up their rooms and just get in the way by distracting me.
Of course by the weekend I’m pretty wiped out.

I’m bummed that we missed all of the Earth day events because we were cleaning house. pooh pooh.

I have to admit it is looking quite nice.

Our water heater leaked and keep running all over the garage, while I was napping. Mc dumb dumb has know for a LONG time that it was dying.
I had already told him I had wanted a tankless water heater.
We only lost some paperback books, some stuffed animals and some pillows. Our trashman is not going to be very happy with us. There is tons a crap out at the curb!! We sold $92 worth of stuff that I did set out just to keep people off my back because it looked like we were having this HUGE yard sale.(we live on a busy street) I also have four more bags of clothes to donate and one big box of kids book.

This was just round one.

We had Berta’s friend Luz come help. Her ex has the kids every other weekend( it was every weekend- Fri night and Sat but now he wants to date. She gets them back early Sunday AM to take them to church) so she is alone plus she could use the $$ and I could use the help and company(she is a sweetheart)

My family said that there were going to help get the house in order over Spring break. It’s like pulling teeth, no I take that back pulling teeth was MUCH easier!! :P

Oh yea, an architect wandered by and we started chatting and I got his card.

the house is too small.
McSmarty does not want to move, for lots of reasons.

We have talked about adding onto the house. We can add a tiny bit onto the front but only 10 ft. That will leave just enough room to park two cars and extend the garage for more storage and add a balcony that we have been talking about adding on for he last 15 years. We need new windows in the front of the house. The existing ones are old wood ones and some nice Double paned Pella French doors with shades in between the glass would be perfect(yes I have put A LOT of thought into this) :D

I really really want to add onto th BACK of the house. We have never talked about that before because we would lose some of the precious back yard we have. All of the new homes in our area just have the setback which leaves a small patio for a BBQ and a table and chairs.

If we extend the house we can turn my son’s now oversized back bedroom into two rooms by dividing down the middle, Then make my daughter’s room the office again.

Our room would be enlarged by doing that which means we could create sections in our room. One for sleeping, one for our books and my crafts. The bathroom and his dressing area is already sectioned off.

We still need to purge the house of lots of stuff.

I need to get a full Time Mother’s Helper again.

we spend all of our time in 1,000 sq. ft. the house, where the kitchen, dining, living, bath and kids rooms are.

The other 1,000 sq. ft is the garage, master bedroom, bath, and entry. I put in a wall of storage cabinets in the master bedroom in order to make a home for my linens & photos.

No matter how many times I completely clean out the garage, I just gets all junked up again :(

My frustration factor is sky high these days. No one knows where anyone else puts anything. I have made a “home” for everything but the people (McSmarty, ADD Boy, DIY Girl, and Milca-mothers helper) just move stuff around and make-up new places! ARG!!

McSmarty built a shed in the back yard for my photos & scrapbook stuff. I told him “over my dead body” So I put the kids games out there and their books on the shelves and my books are in boxes in the garage :(

My Sharona said she and I can help each other get organized. I really like this Idea :)

find something to do with my time. But thing that tics me off( see no swear words :) is that I’m not the only one in this house. I like everything to have it’s own home but the other people do not seem to want to put things back!!!!I have tried chore charts, allowance,yelling,begging they have gotten spoiled as far as keeping the house clean.
