I'm three months into this one.

It seems that a combination of YNAB and looking at my accounts more than once a month is the way forward. No nasty surprises at the final days that way.

January

I got the new version of YNAB up and running on the mac. Both joint and personal finances are plotted.

For Feb:
YNAB entries
• Xcel spread sheet set up for 09/10

The beast that would not die

Same old same old. This year I really will. I have YNAB to help me on the mac now. Plus a joint account which needs a level of regular responsibility. Step one will be to set up the software.

When will I learn?

I’m still facing the end of year rush. Silly creature.

Still determined to make this a habit

We put aside an afternoon in January and we have one booked for February too. My aim is to keep this up and have the books done for the end of April this year.

My accountant may well die of shock!

March is done!

That’s three months I’ve kept on track.
I think I should set myself a really fabulous treat for sticking to this for an entire year.

Next week I’ll put aside some time to catch up on the backlog.

February Success!

February’s bookkeeping is done and dusted. Only the most minimal amount – but it’s better than nothing.

Depressingly cyclical

I’ve just read last year’s entry about how horrid it is to do a years worth of accounting all in one go – how I’ll never do it again. And do you know what – it is horrid! It sucks! But I just didn’t learn.
I am exceptionally motivated in most areas of my life.
This is one of my weakest points.
So this is the year I’m fixing it.

This year it’s on my annual plan.
This month I have the 30th Jan booked in as a Tax day to begin getting this current year of tax up to date.

With new resolve

Once again I’m at the end of a marathon paperwork spree. This year is going to be the year I do this regularly. I’m never NEVER going to be this behind on the tax stuff again.
NEVER.
