Learn Spanish

I am having a setback. My lesson on Saturday was horrible. I get frustrated because reading the Spanish seems so easy, but then I go to say something….and I forget everything that I know. ah! I will just keep working at it. Something is bound to stick in my head eventually. no?

Okay, I am attacking this goal strategically starting in October. Right now I am just hacking away at this randomly…a little Harry Potter in Spanish, a little Spanish radio, a little grammar, a Mexican movie…

BUT, October! Spanish 2 with community education on Tuesday nights and Intercambio (exchange) on Saturday mornings. More speaking, less fumbling and wasting time!

I made flascards this weekend. I was hesitant to do this, because I didn’t know if it would work. But, it did! Back to the basics I guess.

I need to practice more. Does anyone want to practice online via AIM or perhaps know of anywhere where beginers practice?

I know there are computer programs, but sometimes it is just more fun with more than one person!

I tried some Spanish on one of my native-speaking Spanish friends. She said I was doing “cave man talk”. Haha. I asked her how she would say it….then I told her to remind me again when I hadn’t been drinking wine.

Also my roomate and I quized each other on verbs. She did awesome. I have lots of room for improvment.

I finally went to Craig’s list and found a spanish speaker in my area to help me. I had been studying Spanish by myself, but I wasn’t making much progress.

It is $15 per hour, but it has been totally worth it—I study more! I have my second lesson this semana.

For me I think making this commitment (time and monetary) will be beneficial.
