List my missed flirting opportunities

I almost forgot and I’m not sure if it counts, since it was such a small thing. But when I bought a bread at a French bakery last week, the cute girl gave me this wink and grin in addition to the bread <g>.

Made me smile :)

While I was waiting in line to pay for my groceries, the woman in front of me strongly insisted on letting me pay before her, claiming “young men shouldn’t waste time”, even though she certainly wasn’t much older than me.

About five minutes after I had left the store I went “Duh… If that wasn’t a clear hint to respond with some praise about her not looking older, I don’t know what would be.” Or even asking, what young men should do with their time instead… ;)

The other day at the coffee shop I was offered a freebie muffin and a very big smile. While I happily accepted both, later I noticed this missed opportunity for at least a little flirting. Argh.

I had just tried to reach a dear friend on the phone and so when it rang immediately afterwards I thought it was the call-back and so answered with a most friendly, warm, sing-songy “Hellll-ooo :)”.

Well, turns out it was a woman from market research, who seemed surprised, amused and pleased about that greeting !

Throughout the whole interview she was making jokes, laughing a lot and being warm. And while I thought it a nice change from the usual calls of this kind, only much later it hit me, that I should have told her, she can call this number off-work anytime ;)

I can be surprisingly slow… Often it’ll be hours after the fact, when I even realize what this nice person had been trying to do.

So I think I’ll write down the occasions that come to mind.

I hope actually writing these down will be an exercise that will enable me to start a new goal of “List my non-missed flirting opportunities” ;)
