She rocks.
Last saturday I was alone with M folding clothes while she was on her play mat. I finished folding and then looked at her and she had turned over!!
This morning she rolled over and then rolled back..ooooooooohhhhhh. tricks. :p
Lady M has not shown much preference since she’s been here. I’ve thought she was fussier with me than with everyone else mostly because she knows I have the breasts and will insist that I nurse her to console her. everyone else can just hold her and she’ll calm down.
She also seems fine no matter who is with her….which has made me feel less than special.
Lately I’ve seen a shift. J thinks it’s harder for him to console her and his mother, who babysits, said that she had a crying fit for no apparent reason with her yesterday. While it’s getting more difficult for everyone else, I think it’s getting easier for me.
I know her schedule very well now and I almost always know why she’s crying. as a result she cries less with me. She also smiles every time she sees me now, which didn’t happen before…..that feels pretty awesome.
Everyone has been telling me what a good mother I am. The only one I really want to know feels that way is M. and now it seems like she does. : )
This morning Lady M started holding her toys and putting them in her mouth! hooray!!!!
she also is playing the piano with her feet.
yesterday she turned 3 months old. you know, if we count by weeks we’re older than we think.
I play music for Lady M everyday and I sing to her.
But, I just realized I haven’t played any soca or calypso for her!
Can’t have that.
I’m starting right now.

it isn’t fair to all the other babies.
She has a little cold she got from grandma and mild thrush, but aside from that she’s a pretty happy, sweet baby.
She is perfectly beautiful and healthy. 8lbs and 12 oz now.
She’s reaching out to grab things, she’s smiling (seemingly appropriately) and making faces and little sounds…i suspect she’ll be an early talker.
She’s so strong too. she’s got such powerful little legs.
as much of a drag breastfeeding can be…..you can’t beat the intimacy.
