Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

I just dropped off a bag of clothes today to be donated. But most of the things I had donated was more the same (clothes, shoes, etc.) I did donate my prescription glasses (not sure if anyone could really use it. Maybe I should have choose someplace else like a place that specifically takes glasses (instead of the Salvation Army).

Anyway, there you have it.

I gave my brother some more K-Cups to take to work. I bought them thinking I would like them, but I really didn’t so I didn’t get them…

Also, I upgraded my coffee mug. The one I had was really good but it was too tall to fit under the Kureig and also too tall to fit under the pot at work too so… I had to transfer it from a cup to that one and well.. it wasn’t too efficient so it drove me nuts! Anyway, I gave it to my roomie.. Who needed one for work.. (and it was a really good one to begin with.

Counting: I also sent my sister with a bag full of Candy for my Aunt’s child. Which I am not sure if she is going to too happy about, however I couldn’t keep it in my house any longer :/ Anyway, it was starbursts, pixie sticks, sweet tarts, etc.

Year 2013 Review, Updates and Plans for the Future

Review: This year I gave away 26 different types of things, however gave away tons of similar items (like clothing to the Salvation Army and my sister).

I will continue to work on this goal and will continue to give things away. But I know its going to be hard for me to come up with 50 “different” types of things to give away. I still need to get rid of 23 different types of objects. Hmm… what could I possibly continue to give away.

Plans for the future: What could I possibly give away??

I had bought the wrong puzzles for Alex’s students for Halloween bag. So, I gave the left over puzzles to my patients at work. The weren’t Halloween themed or anything, just cute little kid’s puzzles. (This was actually given away back at the end of October, but I forgot to write a post about it.)
