I may or may not do it

Could my credit possibly suffer by not having the landline # that I’ve had for years any more? I’m having some second thoughts.

I canceled my DSL service. It was supposed to have been my first step towards independence from the phone line. But who’s [slightly] sorry now? I did well for maybe 10 days. Now I’m on a 37.3 dialup connection typing this.

And…I lost my ATM card yesterday like a dumb a—. Some lady’s kid found it and the lady located me by looking me up in the phone book. When she returned my card to me, I thought about 2 things: 1-Wish I’d have had more cash on hand to give to her for her daughter. 2-I guess I’d have been out of gas if I had disconnected my landline. But it depends on when I would have done it. And, she wound up coming by instead of talking to me cuz the phone was busy (dialup). Maybe she’d have done the same even if the # listed was disconnected? Who knows? But I really wanna know if it could affect my creditworthiness…

Going wireless

I have DSL at home and my DSL contract is over at the end of the month. I am thinking of taking the big plunge and getting rid of both my DSL and my landline. (Of course, it’s not like I have the option to keep the DSL without having a home phone.)

The DSL is the main reason I keep the phone, followed closely by the fact that I’ve had the same phone number for years. But now all the people who call that number seem to be telemarketers or wrong numbers. Everyone that I talk to regularly has my cell phone number.

I still feel kind of antsy about it. But that’s one less bill coming in (DSL and local service come on the same bill) and maybe, just maybe I’ll start doing something constructive at home rather than surfing the net, chatting, or listening to Internet radio. Wish me luck!
