My camera arrived yesterday (Thursday) as well as the 256MB SD card. It all works well. Today I am expecting the KIT-MHC204W Charger which includes 4 Maha 2500mAh Batteries w/Holder, 1 FREE MAHA Deluxe Travel Bag Today, 1 FREE 8 Cell Battery Holder, and 1 FREE Maha Battery Tester. I purchased them online at http://www.thomas-distributing.com . I found them after reading a review at http://www.imaging-resource.com/ about batteries and chargers. They did a lot of tests and the result is that the charger I’m getting is the best at topping off the batteries.
I am very happy with my cannon A410 and will post what my take on the charger is after I’ve had time to use it and form an opinion of my own.
I purchased the Canon Powershot A410.

Budget was the major factor in my decision making. After reading the detailed review at imaging-resource.com I was comfortable with a megapixel less than 5. My purposes are covered by the camera I purchased. It is tri-pod mountable. I purchased an SD256 card so it will have plenty of memory. It uses AA batteries which are easy to get. It has a 3x optical zoom. It is small enough to carry with me at all times. It has a built-in flash so I can take night/indoor photos. It comes with a wrist-strap and I can add my own layard to the camera.
I’m pleased with my decision to purchase this camera. Now I’m just waiting on its arrival. It should be here well in time for my Dad’s visit next month.
So many cameras! So which camera?
Here’s what I’ve come up with so far:
- 5 megapixels or better
- Tripod mountable (the TrekPod fixes most problems).
- decent storage ability. Compact Flash or SD Cards.
- 3x or better zoom
- be compact enough I can carry it at all times.
- indoor and night photo capable.
- lanyard capable ( so I can loop the lanyard around my neck while keeping the camera in a shirt pocket. I don’t want to drop it after I’ve spent all that money to get it.
If anyone has additional criteria they think I should consider please let me know. Thanks.
I haven’t decided on which camera to purchase but I have found which monopod/tripod I am interested in. The TrekPod can be seen at http://www.trek-tech.com/ . If anyone has an idea or suggestion that may be better, comparable or is useful in conjunction with this item I’d like to read about it. Thanks, and have a good day.
