My first trip by plane was ecstatic. I was merely a passenger on a commercial jet. There was a lot about the trip I didn’t like putting up with. Be the feeling of hanging above the earth as the plane tilted in a turn above LA was one of the most enjoyable experiences of my life. I want that freedom. I want to be in control of my own flight path, not just a suspected person who is towed along for the ride.
All I can do now in my current financial situation is practice Flight Simulator. The force-feedback joystick was so worth buying. I used to practice a landing every day when I came home from work. My progress was slow.
If I ever want to really fly I think I should install the game again and keep at it from time to time. Maybe I’ll be able to afford actual lessons one day, and the virtual practice will help me be sure that none of that instruction time will go to waste.
