I had to rebuild my entire computer in the process but I now have all my CD’s on my home network. I have the hard drive backed up every night to a removable hard drive and I downloaded all the album art off Amazon.com.

I started ripping every song on my 350+ CD’s. This is no trivial task. It took a couple of hours to setup Exact Audio Copy with the correct LAME settings but now I am ready to rock and roll. I am ripping all my song with a VBR 256kbps compression. I have read numerous things about ripping to a “lossless” audio codec but decided against it when blind testing revealed that most audiophiles can’t distinguish between a uncompressed WAV and a VBR 192kbps (or higher) MP3.
