find a good job

Yay for my summer job being 2 days away from over and me not making the time to say anything about it. It was awesome, loved it. I got paid well, too. And now that I have certification for a couple things…I’m flexible. It works. I’m awesome.

I have a job, I’ve had it for 6 years and the thing is I love it. It’s seasonal, though we don’t work through the summer. I really love my job and it’s related to my intended career path (education), but I need more money than it pays me. I make $9/hr and I can only work a maximum of 16 hours per week, right now I have about 12, so I don’t think I’ll be returning in the fall.

I need to get out of here. I need to get my life together and I need to make money to support myself and my education. I’m so tired of being disappointed and I’m so tired of my life revolving around everyone else’s problems. I’m ready to do for myself.

I applied at Sunshine and had an interview a whole month ago. They claim that they’re still in the interviewing process but it’s been a full month since they’ve talked to me so it’s unlikely. Which is too bad because it’s a summer day camp and it can lead to a more permanent direct care position, and once you had experience in that field you can move up to being a supervisor which looks awesome on resumes. But, it doesn’t look like that’s gonna happen for me.

Saw an add for postal services. I called and I think I just paid $130 to get a job. Well, I paid $130 to get the study materials to study for the test which will hopefully produce a good job. It’s the best job in the city. They start at $14/hr and if you work full-time you get federal benefits. Pray for me…I really need this.

If I got it I would hope for a full-time position. I’m returning to school in the fall and if I could have a job at the post office, and I could work full-time. I would stick to evening classes. Even if it meant only being able to take 2 classes per semester and taking a lot longer to finish my degree. Fingers are crossed. They’re sending my study materials out tomorrow and they should be here in 7-10 business days and when I get them it’ll say when my test is and what positions they’re hiring for probably. This job could really make things happen for me and I don’t need another disappointment.
