So since the last entry, I’ve got the six-step pretty much down. I was at a dance two weeks ago, but I wasn’t confident enough to really do anything. It’s also a lot easier to get into things when one is at an actual dance/rave in the dark with blaring techno music rather than practicing alone in one’s cold basement. I’ve been slacking off badly lately because of Animecentral the other week (where the dance was at, actually), and the fact that my boyfriend went off to boot camp/tech school for seven months (I’ve been being kind of a wimp about it.)
my next step is to work on CCs, improve my transition to the freezes I do know, and build my upper-body strength to do the freezes that I can’t manage.

So I’ve really started practicing this, and workout wise, it’s pretty intense. I’ve actually been wanting to do this, but have had to miss a couple days just because my muscles were that sore. I’m still doing the basics right now, and I’m trying to totally master the 6-step and build stamina.

I started my DVD. It seems to be a pretty good instructional- it’s really thorough about showing the moves with lots of repetition. The only thing that tripped up my uncoordinated self is that they don’t do any from-the-back filming, so that you can follow the moves exactly, instead of trying to do the mirror-image all the time. There also isn’t reallu any practice music on the DVD, but oh well.

So disc one of Breakdance Step-by-Step is on its way. I heard that’s a good one to start out with. Hopefully I can get at least something down by Acen.

I’d like to learn how to breakdance so I’m not just writhing around out there and so I can show off like hell.
