For the first time this year, I got a check from the tack consignment store. She sold a bunch of stuff, but her commission on a lot of it was actually 35%, instead of the 25% I had thought. I had misunderstood the original contract, thinking horse clothing was charged the normal 25% commission like other horse stuff, and rider clothing was 25%. I wish I had realized that as I would have asked more for those almost new Pessoa 74” sheets I bought. Grrr!
I decided to pull all my remaining horse fly sheets and blankets. Not sure what the hell I’m going to do with that 70” fly sheet and 72” blanket if we don’t have another yearling around.
Oh well, I bought those sheets for 50% off on eBAy originally anyway.

My trainer is going to take the six damaged gate panels that have been sitting in our garage for months. We were going to take them to the dump after replacing them,. However, we’d either have to cut them up in to manageable bits, or rent a trailer to haul them over. Since these are hundreds of dollars each new, I asked my trainer if he wanted them. He sent a friend of his a picture then called her on his cell phone to see if she wanted them . Her answer was, “Hell Yes!” Ithat was this Monday. Still no date on when they’ll come and get them. Hmmm. Guess I’ll have to push for one.

I sold one of my show shirts to Christine, a really lovely woman at my barn. I’d purchased it from a tack store that was going out of business for half off, but it was always too tight so I never actually wore it. That’s one less thing in my closet, plus a check for $25.

I just sold three very nice pairs of high end full seat breeches in deer skin and leather to new boarder at the barn. They were a bit stretched out, plus I’ve lost weight so they didn’t fit me anymore. However, they’re now $280/pair and I only charged her $25/pair, so it’s a win-win.

I finally tossed my massive black golf umbrella with the two broken splints (or whatever the wire arches that hold up the fabric are called.)
I’m using my beige umbrella instead. It’s smaller and doesn’t match my black barn clothes, but I’m not exactly a fashion plate when I muck stalls anyway.

My husband and I took in the $112 worth of cans and bottles that have been pilling up in the garage for the last several months. It’s a bit of an eye opener to think of just how many boxes and boxes of cans it takes to make that little money back.
Still, more space in the garage! Yeah!

I’ve been holding on to some blanket bags and boxes from recent purchases. Nothing is going back, so I tossed most of it. I need to break down boxes and do another sweep to dispose of the rest.
Edit: Done

I sold a box of books I didn’t like at the used book shop. It gained me pennies on the dollar, but I did walk out with two classic Wodehouse paperbacks.
I also took two big boxes of horse clothes et al to the local consignment shop. Hello space! I can’t call that stuff gone until it actually sells, though.

I took a box of old clothes, a bed ruffle, a nylon bag, and a multi cassette tape storage holder to the local Goodwill. I separated out a stack of books that need to go to the used book store for cash or to the library for donation.

I picked up a few Of my items from the consignment shop that I might be able to use here at home. That leaves 27 items still for sale there. I will probably add any of Ally’s old horse clothes that I can’t reuse. If that stuff sells this goal will practically be done.
