I have my third class of Wilton Course 2 tonight! I am looking foward to learning how to make new flowers! :)
Last weekend I made a cake for my Pastor’s 29th anniversary. It was my first sheet cake – a little lopsided on one corner but pretty good overall! I got many compliments on it.
I also made a couple of cakes for my sister when she came down to visit. I have been enjoying the practice … and I’m looking forward to the holidays!
I’ll post some photos soon!

Finished Wilton Course 1 last night. My final project was a rose bouquet cake.
I may not be a master decorator, but I can at least decorate a decent cake. It’s very satisfying to know that I can cross this off my list!
I had so much fun and have received so much encouragement that I start Course 2 next week!

I’m taking the Wilton Course 1 decorating class at Hobby Lobby. My first assignment is done. It was a little frustrating to complete due to uncontrollable cirmcumstances (widespread power outage due to Ike, which left me the night before class to get the cake prepped). However, it didn’t turn out looking too bad.
I sent the final product to work with my husband and he and his coworkers devoured it. I got nothing but compliments and now look forward to assignment #2, which I’ll prep this weekend.
BTW, my hubby is already telling me I should sign up for Course 2. He says he likes this new hobby! LOL! :)
