Just don't mispronounce it 15 months ago

I hear most people in America pronouncing it kari-oky. Actually, the “kara” is short for the word “karappo” in Japanese, meaning, empty, as in the martial art, Karate (empty hand). The “oke” is short for the Japanese word “okestra” (orchestra). Hence, it is pronounced Kara-OK. But, no matter how you pronounce, or mispronounce it, it’s still a lot of fun.
