Bora Bora is quite expensive, $650 for an over the water bungalow. However, here’s hope with another destination. I went to the Cook Islands, and they are comparatively cheap. They also speak English for those whose French is lacking. Aitutaki, a short plane ride from Rarotanga, offers a large, beautiful lagoon with many uninhabited motu islands. Here is a shot of one called One Foot Island. It has the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen. For those with more time and money, you can either take a ship or fly north to Manihiki (still in the Cook Islands) which is said to compare only to Bora Bora in its beauty.
