Kichijoji sidewalks have gotten a make-over.

One of the main roads. It looks like tile but its kind of soft. (Another shot in comments)

Another narrow walking street in downtown Kichijoji

The next corner is my destination, a Subway sandwich shop.

Highway connections in Hamamatsucho

Highways are usually raised above the ground in Tokyo

Puchi Road

This is one of my favorite roads in Kichijoji. I never knew it had a name. I just always called it John Henry’s Alley because of a coffee shop I frequent, John Henry’s Study. It’s only about a half block long, leading from Penny Lane (where I’m standing) to Kichi’s center quad, and has many little restaurants and bars. You can see the name under the guy riding the unicycle.

From Musashi Sakai train platform

Looking west. Tokyo Boy’s home is a 15 minute walk down that street.

Musashi Sakai circus

“The wheels of the bus go round and round.”

In Shibuya

This is Sakura Dori (Cherry Blossom Street).

Looking up Dogenzaka in Shibya and the famous 1-0-9 building.

This, like Hachiko Square, is another big meeting place, especially on weekends. “Saturday night, 7pm, meet me at the 1-0-9.”

On January first,

everything is closed. The streets are without cars and people. This is my corner street (which is usually very busy), a 6 minute walk to downtown Kichijoji.

Night and the city

Here are a few more shots of Kichijoji and Xmas lights. This first one is the bus round-about across from the station (See comments)
