I did it just over a week ago, but I didn’t stop shaking to write this entry until now. No, not really. But it was terrifying.
When I jumped over, I didn’t jump so much as stepped over the edge and then pushed off weakly with my back foot. I flipped upside down and rebounded back incredibly high, then rebounded a few more times and had to pull myself back to the edge. Which was hard because I was holding on to my harness as hard as I could, and my muscles were all tense.
Yeah, that was scary. But fun. I don’t know if I’d do it again. Eventually I will be getting a picture of me on the rebound, and when I do, I’ll post it in the comments.

One of my friends is getting married on the 17th, and he is planning his own bachelor party because he wants to make sure he only does things he wants to do and not things other people want him to do (a good strategy, I think). When we were talking about it on Friday he mentioned everything he was planning, and he said “And I might go bungee jumping if anyone else wants to.” Immediately, I said, “I’ll do it.”
It’s partly because he wants to do it for his bachelor party and just needs a sidekick, but it’s also because I’ve always kind of wanted to do it myself, but just needed a little external kick-start. Now that I have it, I’m finding that I’m really looking forward to it. We’re going to the 100-foot indoor bungee jump in “The Mall,” and I think it’ll be a good time. We’ll see what I think when I’m up on the platform, though…
