On the surface, the scenario did not look good. My brothers decided that we should go paintballing for a part of my bachelor party, but the day they picked the temperature was going up to 32 degrees Celcius, which is typically unbearably hot for me when I’m not running around in a pair of overalls. But the heat wasn’t as bad as I thought it’d be: there was a bit of a breeze, and ducking behind cover gets you plenty of shade. I wasn’t a very good shot, and had a lot of bruises to show for it, but my first paintball experience was really good and I definitely want to go again. In the fall, when it’s a little cooler, but I’m gathering up a bunch of my friends and we’re going. The adrenaline, the competitiveness, the excitement: paintball was the most fun I’ve had while being physically active in a long time.

It’s currently 28 degrees Celcius and in an hour I’ll be running around outside with coveralls on trying not to get shot as part of some bachelor party shenanigans. It sounds like fun, even though I may die of heat exhaustion. Wish me luck!
