Find a house that I am truly happy in

came today, and I should have his report by next Wednesday. Now to whip the house into shape & continue the decluttering – ugh.

in earnest now. We are listing our house For Sale By Owner – the photographer will be coming next Wednesday and it will be official then. We’ll be moving to a much cheaper place (somewhere!), and I’m hoping this will give our family the fresh start we’ve been needing for so long. Our house is in a great neighborhood, so I hope it sells fairly quickly.

my level best to be happy here, while keeping my eyes open. Facing some of the demons connected with this place.

I found a house online that really looked great and was very affordable. I immediately sent an e-mail, but had no response. So this Monday I drove past and saw people there – and thought damn, it’s sold. So I sent another e-mail about it, and today the owner responded saying that they were expecting an offer within the next 2 days, but if things fell through they’d contact me for a showing.

I hate to wish anyone to NOT get the house, but I think I want it. I’ll keep watching this listing, anyway…

Poor Eldest Daughter and her hubby keep putting in bids on houses in CA and losing out, too. We went through 3 houses with them, they tried to bid on the 2nd, and sure enough – were just too late. :(

to 2 open houses today, but neither one will work. Middle Daughter was kind enough to join me, since Hubby wouldn’t.

I found an older house at a great price near our first house. There’s an open house Sunday which I plan to drag my spouse to. Kicking and screaming if necessary. I paved the way this morning by mentioning seeing the listing.

our current house is nice and meets our needs bedroom and bathroom-wise, etc., it is really more than I want to continue to spend on mortgage and especially real estate taxes. And though it has some really great memories, it also has had the most nightmarish events occur in it. I think I need to go elsewhere to get any kind of a fresh start.

I spent some time online during lunch break again today checking out listings. If it were just me, this would be easy, but it’s not.

The thought of moving everything we’ve accumulated is almost more than I can bear, though! You always think you won’t become a packrat like your parents, but …
