Drink 43 different wines

my dear friend Terri came over for one last dinner and girls night at the rental house. I made a nice dinner with garlic chipotle marinated salmon, a salad, some French bread, antipasto – and, of course a nice bottle of wine!

Here is the 2004 Jacob’s Creek Shiraz Cabernet we enjoyed, and the pretty flowers Terri brought from her garden for a centerpiece. GREAT evening!

my wonderful friend Terri came over to the rental house to catch up, bearing gifts – including a small box of chocolates from a local shop and a really great bottle of vintage 2007 J. Lohr Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon. It was very smooth, and I loved it, as well as the delightful company!

I didn’t get a shot of it, we split a bottle of 2005 Franciscan Cabernet at Petterino’s Saturday night, and it was great!

I took this local wine I received as a Christmas gift to the Super Bowl party last night – Lavender Crest Vineyard’s Red Velvet, a semi-sweet red that was a nice, smooth wine that went perfectly with everything. Nice!

Villa Antinori Toscano at Biaggi’s, great conversation – the way every Friday night should be! A very nice, ever-so-slightly peppery, fairly full-bodied red – mmmm.

I tried a “Samurai” at a local Japanese restaurant – which is plum wine mixed with Sake, so I’m counting this. :) It was great! We had an unbelievable time there; it was our friend Brooke’s birthday and was pretty wild! :)

The last time we were in Galena, Hubby just had to get a couple of bottles of holiday wine – we had one in a white, Christmas Tree shaped bottle on Christmas Day which pretty much sucked, but this Winter Fest was nice, both in the wild rice, mushroom, tur-duc-en soup and to drink along with it. Not overly sweet, so it really hit the spot.
