Paint a Picture Worth Framing

I took IWABMY’s advice and spent a little time letting the painting “speak” to me – and speak it did. I need to fill in some lighter green shades on the bushes and trees to give it more depth, and may also go ahead and paint in a rail I was iffy about.

Then I’ll take another step back and see again …

some more work on the lighthouse painting tonight, and am now trying to decide whether to call it a day, or keep “improving” it and running the risk of screwing it up.

Painting is so therapeutic. :)

is not going that well, but at least I have been able to get a little farther on my lighthouse painting. It is really taking shape more now, and I don’t have that much left to do.

I worked on the painting for an hour or two tonight. The canvas is now full, so I’ll just be working on shading, embellishment, filling in little things over the background, etc. It is such a joy, even though I’m just not very good yet. Love it!

the weather is getting chilly and I needed to do something comforting, I worked a little more on the ol’ lighthouse painting tonight. Ahhhh, I love it, even though I’m definitely not an artist.

I was able to get some more work done on my painting last night, and it was just what I needed to calm myself. Slow, steady progress.

I made some progress painting much of the background of my latest, which is based on a photo I took of a lighthouse in Door County, WI. Art Therapy is awesome, even when you’re not much of an artist – I so love it!

Even when I have days with neither literal nor figurative blue skies, I do at least have a set of paints and canvas. Tonight I painted the sky for my lighthouse picture. I love painting so much!

I sketched an outline on the canvas. This next project will be based on a photo I took of a lighthouse we visited in Door County, WI in 2001. I just love lighthouses, and have a couple of special Christmas ornaments, pictures, stained glass window hanging, and a magnet which were given to me as gifts; all lighthouses and all very treasured.
