catch up at work

for the first time in at least a year, I feel I have a reasonable amount of control over my work load, and can even see the tops of my filing cabinets and most of my desk. And in the nick of time! I’d hate to be gone 10 days starting out way behind.

I’m marking this as done, though I know it’ll be short-lived (I will be buried when I return!)

I’ve been making good progress on this goal, but am still far from where I want to be before I take off on a week & a half of vacation. Being gone so long is a bit unnerving; I haven’t been away for so long since childhood.

this week, but still a long way to go. Not only have I torn through my inbox (the non-virtual kind) but can see the tops of my filing cabinets again! Woo hoo! Maybe by the end of the week I’ll be near to checking this off.

killer week, but this coming week may be better. I am ecstatic about our new office assistant; for once we hired one that is competent enough that I can hand off some projects to her. Yay!

I’ll be out of the office a lot and basically treading water. Over 10-hour day today. Maybe by the end of the week …

Although I didn’t get a huge amount of work done on my actual files, I do feel much better after taking care of some quick loose ends and organizational items. I now have a good checklist for Monday, which should really help.

killer day at work. Incoming crap from a dozen directions simultaneously. All needing attention RIGHT NOW. I’ll have to go in tomorrow to attack, attack, attack – and try to ignore the phone.

I’m making progress on this, I probably won’t be able to check it off till at least late next week – there is a nasty federal estate tax return deadline I’m not ready for yet, and a horrific appeal looming (totally new territory for me).

In reality, I will most likely never be totally “caught up”; I will be satisfied if I can get to the place where my work load is prioritized and manageable.
