I am still working on this one fervently. I suspect that my students have no idea how much I’d like to be more inspiring, more enthusiastic, how I’d like them to whoosh along with me.
The problem is likely that I have a rather dry sense of humor and it’s not immediately obvious. I am a rather still person. I don’t fly about the room waving my arms and it does not feel natural for me to do so.
I would try to walk around the room but the classroom is so sad. Not enough seats for everyone; no room to show a film or a tv show. No room to set up a video projector. We are crammed in like sardines.
I sincerely believe that what I know is worth learning but the students are skeptical and think that it is all so antique and outmoded.
So it remains on my list….
