Move to New York City

WELL MY LAST ENTRY I SAID I WAS BROKE AND THAT’S STILL THE CASE. BUT IN LIFE YOU HAVE TO TAKE CHANCES….SO I PURCHASED A ROUND TRIP TICKET TO NYC. I HAVE A FRIEND THAT’S GONNA LET ME CRASH AND LOOK FOR A JOB. IF I FIND ONE AND I LIKE IT THERE..I,M GONNA STAY, I AM SCARED, BUT AT LEAST IF I WANNA COME HOME, I HAVE THE OPTION. I LEAVE AUGUST 25TH AND TOUCH DOWN AT JFK AIRPORT AT 6PM…I CANT BELIEVE IT…WISH ME LUCK. ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVICE?!

I still want to move to NYC, but things have changed in the past few months. I just moved back to ohio from hawaii and i am not financially sound, as planned. NYC is very exspensive, so i dont want to go there without back up. I have a few friends who have been very supportive and offered me a place to stay, but I dont want to move with no money, job and plan. I also been thinking about atlanta as well. But for now i,m here in ohio.

Well i took a huge step in the nyc direction yesterday. I applied for three colleges in NYC, for admission in Fall 2009. I hope I get accepted to at least one! I am so excited…

Last night i was looking up potential colleges to attend, as you know “finish college” is on my life list and thats what I intend to do. But I am a bit puzzled….you guys tell me your opinions please. I found a school called CCNY and it has really nice dorm $1,000/per month. Should I apply for a dorm or just get my own place and/or roommate when I move there? Its so much to figure out!

Well…I started writing in a journal dedicated to my big move to NYC. I am going to write my feelings, potential jobs, my bills, potential apartments and whatever else has to do with nyc. It helps to stay focus and it will be a great memory when I look back on it all…

Have you ever felt you were out of place? And searching for truth within yourself?? I feel that moving to NYC, will be my truth..I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and it’s BORING!! I have so many talents and passions. But this city does not accomodate them due to lack of opportunities. I am 23 yrs old and will be 24 in Feb 2009, I feel like I,ve wasted precious time and I,m ready for change. I just took a trip to NYC this past weekend, and I did not want to come home. I love the energy, the different cultures, the hustle and bustle. I think i,ve been afraid to make this change, but after being there for 4 days, the trip was a pure affirmation that I belong in New York City. I attended college for 2 years with a concentration in Journalism. I love to read, write, interview and research. I would love to finish my studies in NYC and land a job at a magazine company. This website also gave me more motivation, knowing there are many others with the same goal as I….so I,m hoping to make new friends to take this journey with.
