make my own clothes

I am rocking gang busters on this one, so far I’ve got two new skirts, a new dress and three new shirts. All redesigned from secondhand or rescued clothing. I am sooo happy with myself right now!

Jean Therapy by Scatha G. Allison is a fantastic book that shows you how to make tones of cute stuff from old jeans, and it translates well to any pair of pants. Deffenetly check this out!

I just ordered like 16 books from the library that are all about altering clothes to make new things form them. Really looking forward to it…also amazed that I just loaded myself up…thank goodness for the library…

I’m really big into the Steampunk thing, but I wanted to find ways to incorporate it into my everyday wardrobe, with out being all weird…k, it can happen back off!

Anyway, I found this really cool site where people have put to together collections of current fashion items to make, well all kinds of theme, but there is a lot of Steampunk themed things.

So, since everything requires a bit of modification anyway, I decided to break things down and work it into my ten item challenge I stole from CharityAK.

Basically, you need Boots, Bodices/Corset, Ruffles, and cool accessories like Hats, Spectacles, Gloves, and anything brass.

armed with that and a color pallet of mute, earthy colors and bold jewel colors, I am ready to embark on remaking my wardrobe to be…Everyday Steampunk!

CharityAK is in some kind of fashion contest where she needs to make ten mix and match items for her fall wardrobe. I’m completely stealing this, but with a twist, I have to use whats on hand, no new nothing. So, old sheets, curtains, tablecloths, and old clothing will get re-purposed and turned into a fabulous wardrobe for the fall…now the problem is if the fall is going to be warm or cold.

just finished a nice dress…yes my room is a mess, but I considering it the only room I have, its pretty clean…

With all my stiff in one place, in easy reach! SOOOOOO excited!!!!

Summer is nearly gone, as far as fashion is concerned, so I will create 14 outfits for the fall.
