become a writer

Freelance style…

So the few people I’ve talked to about this say that they had a decent blog before they had steady work…sigh, so another blog for me to work on. My delama? What to write about and where to put it. DO I continue on with the Archy Fantasies blog, do I start a new one? I think I need to at least put my name on it as opposed to my screen name…and do I want potential employers seeing my debunking blog? is that professional? I need a mentor, but I don’t think that is going to happen…sigh…anyway, I can do this, I figure I’ll get 6 good articles written about emerging topics, maybe even learn to interview peopl and see where that takes me…oh and I need to have it done in then next two weeks, cause that’s when I need to start getting paid. Srly, its cold and I’m hungry..

And I just got a reply back from one saying they are interested in publishing my Boxley articles…awesome!

Set off three query emails…hopefully one of them will return back to me. Now to find 21 more to query.

I’ve got a friend who works for newspaper and tomorrow I’m gonna pump her brain for info. With luck i will know what I need to do to get into the biz.

Quite serious about this now. I really would like to write as my second job, and this is the place to start.

I will spend the rest of this month setting up. Then i will start to send out requests next month when things calm down.

My goal is to make an extral $400 a month since that will even out my income. So I’ll start with 24 querries a month and see where it goes from there.

Rough time getting motivated today, spent the better part reading and sleeping…Now I’m cleaning just to avoid sitting down and working…srly, just sit down and type damn it.

I made a schedule and by Bragi I will stick to it! Man I hope I don’t have to eat those words later…
