I’m 16 and a Home School student at the time of this post.
Looked into what I need to have to get my paperwork life in order now that I am getting older. Ordered a new copy of my Birth Certificate today. Have to have it to register for classes at college and through the county. Required to have it when I go to get my permit for my license and also to update my passport. Now that I look older, ID is becoming an issue, too.
The past year and a half I did not need my license, but now it’s getting to be that time. It will also be a help to run errands and to get myself to and from work at different places when I need to be somewhere. I really want to be a bigger help to my family, and being able to drive myself to college (for school), different marinas (for fun) or car shows (for work) is pretty much necessary.
My grandmother and aunts also need help driving, and I want to be able to get back and forth to see them (and spend time at the beach more). I know a license without restrictions does not come over night, so I have to start now. Permit first, unrestricted later. My family and I like to travel a lot, so I’m looking forward to helping drive on long road trips, too.
Next step, driving schools (basic, then road hazard, then all road, then track racing). Once I am 18, I have to be able to handle the cars at our dealership, so not getting it is not an option. Before 19, I have to complete this goal… we’ve got work to do.
