June 2008, like 48 hours. So not enough time todo it right. Went to ROM, did a short walking tour of the village (tour guide a gay friend, hence the reason I toured the village) experience downtown during the night and the day. Love it love it love. Let’s go back but with more money (for the expensive downtown hotel) and more time to do it all right. Oh and less the wheel chair that mom was in, too hard to push on the sidewalks and not enough wheelchair accessibly subway stations.

Josh was phenomenal, more even if there is a word for it. We were only in Winnipeg from Saturday morning until Monday morning but we did tonnes of stuff and had a fabulous time.
We to the WAG (Winnipeg Art Gallery), The Forks, an amazing Mongolie grill for dinner, the historical casino. We staying in a super cheap refurbished downtown hotel. Our most expense cab ride was like 6 bucks. Then on Sunday we did the Winnipeg man and nature Museum which was worth a second visit to say the least. We had dinner at the mag restaurant that was super cheap in our hotel and then went to the MTS centre for the concert. On monday we made our way home. All in all Winnipeg was totally shiny and I will definately make an effort to go there again and see the lesser sights, like some of the smaller museums and the exchange district.
But I did get to scope out the Frank Slide in Frank AB earlier and that was pretty neat.
My mom got some money so when my bro and I go on our road trip across the country to get me home I will get to see a couple of places.
Going to Banff
Going to Drumheller
Going to U of Sask to see the diefenbaker museum
Going to Winnipeg to see the museum and planetarium and then a air force museum in winnipeg.
Then as it turns out mom wants to go to Sudbury at the end of May so I will get to do that too!!!
Well….I was hoping to do some sightseeing on my trip home. BUT, my brother wants to visit people in BC and since mom is paying I guess I am giving in….Won’t be doing some sight seeing cause seeing takes time, time takes up driving time which means more hotel time, extra days means more food money and so on and so on. So, I was hoping to do Drumheller, U of S and Museum of Manitoba(or something) plan was 3 nights, 4 days travel time.
=( No money to stretch the trip so much. So now I guess it’ll be yet another marathon trip across Canada. How dissapointing. 2 nights, 3 days, 11 hours of driving a day not including pee stops, gas stops or food stops.
I wanna move home, so I guess I am getting what I want, I guess I should believe that it’s not fair to ask for more. My whiny brother I guess should get what he wants.
You know, he complains that mom and I have been on vacations and he never got to go but the problem was he never had the money, and we did, so we went and left him at home. He is gulitying her into it. I am really upset but whatever, as if it’s my place to be upset, I just want to get home.
So I moved to BC in Feb 2006 and I drove. I sped the whole way and made it in 3.5 days. (Not enough money for hotels n such) It was not a trip that I could take my time doing. At least I did, and I would do it again 100 times. Except to sight see this time, not to move. What do you think of teaching in a different place every year for 6 years? Then I could really spend some serious time sightseeing. I could do like a major province/city a year and span out on long weekends and holidays to see more….I think it’s a neat idea…
Already been to Sudbury a time or two, drove there once. It was fun. But this time I am also going to Orillia ON for a concert…that will be somewhere new…slowly my plan to see/travel Canada is taking flight.
It is a goal to see and experience all of Canada little by little. I want to see where I come from before I move onto where other people come from.
