I wiped everything off my hard drive and installed Ubuntu 8.04, and after removing some of the horrible standard programs and installing some quality software (Amarok, K3b, KTorrent, Quanta…) everything looks, feels, and works just great.
(I am btw very happy about the option to use restricted drivers for hardware that lacks good FOSS drivers. Keep doing that please.)
The only thing that worries me is that I might have to be going back to dualbooting when Fallout 3 is released… :)

This is one life goal that is actually going quite well.. :)
I’ve been trying out different Linux distributions once or twice a year, until now.. From Ubuntu (or actually KUbuntu) 6.06 I have no real need at all to run Windoze any more.. :D
My only gaming needs (which used to be quite large, I admit) is not that big of a deal any longer – most can be satisfied with Wine (haven’t even tried Cedega yet) and the few times I would like to run anything I can’t be bothered to try out under Wine, a reboot isn’t that difficult…
I have repartitioned my hard drives so that only 10 GB (out of almost 300) is reserved for Windows and games.. The rest is ext3 and Linux only, as far as i’m concerned. This is quite a big step for me, and it feels great!
I have a feeling that this one will be a “Worth Doing!” without any doubt… :D
