urghh…

I’m not eating as healthy as I was before, but I’ve stepped up my exercise to more strenous hikes.
Last Sunday did the Welsh/Dickey Loop in Waterville Valley. A little difficult and lengthy for a first ‘mountain’ hike; it took 6.5 hours to complete and the last few steps were made by an exhausted body.
The views were exquisite, see for yourself; picture attached.
About halfway through the loop we felt very tired and considered turning back when we met this older gentleman coming from the opposite direction.
My guess is that he was probably in his 80’s. We were at the top of the steep incline of mountain one and feeling every step we took to get there. He said he hiked this loop on a regular basis, pretty much every week… and took his time to enjoy the scenery. His words and example instantly recharged our energy levels and motivated us to forge on.
and that’s with vacation, gaining 5 lbs back, and losing them again
Up-ping the exercise has saved me this past week.
Uhmmmm… maybe that’s the ticket!
This is great, I can now get into a whole other wardrobe.
I just wish I had more energy.
I may add a daily vitamin supplement and see if that helps.
I have to be careful of eating enough. I noticed that I have zero energy if I don’t.
That’s 2 lbs gone for last week.
Yesterday was a real tough day. I cheated a little but not over-the-board.
I started a calorie count diary using Excel. This sort of happened because I was tired of all the pieces of paper around the house with calorie counts of the foods I eat and other pieces for a daily tally of calorie intake.
This is much easier. and that’s what’s key here. to make it easy so I stick with it.
I don’t mind eating the same sets of flavorful foods for now.
The results are encouraging and motivating.
I took a 3 day break from the Turbo Jam but did lots of running around and moving furniture instead.
trying to eat healthier; more veggies. I’ve been making a diced tomato cucumber salad with garlic, homemade red wine vinegar and a dash of basil flavored olive oil.
From my calorie count book I found that each medium tomato & cuke is only 50 calories each. The oil is a 120 per Tbsp so I use very little.
A huge helping is probably 2 cukes & 2 tomatoes; it sure fills me up for lunch; and under 300 calories.
Hiking and kayaking have also been added to my routine.
Yesterday I started Turbo Jam; it’s harder to learn than I thought. I’m just going to take it easy and use what I like and the moves that don’t frustrate me.
Move to Amsterdam….
Holly shxx, you’ve never seen skinnier people…. of course since most of the population gets around on BAREBONES bicycles… and the buildings are vertically built… hence steep stairways… it’s actually no wonder.
I absolutely loved Amsterdam; in the 3 days I was there – walking through most of the city – I DID NOT witness anyone having a BAD moment…. everyone is so mellow… probably thanks to the coffee shops… but still, what a great way to live!
no matter how little one eats…. the bad choices still end up packing and padding… those areas I’d like not to be!
I’ve got to get into cooking for one, and cook regularly.
Thank god my friend is making me doggy bags and that he’s a great cook.
