I’ve bought Brian Tracy’s Eat That Frog and Mark Foster’s Do It Tomorrow. Some reading to complete before Harry Potter 7 is out on 21st July in the shops!
Looks like I’m all set to really overcome procrastination for ever. I start to see how it all works, really.

I just realised that I’ve missed the closing date of yet another promotion (£10 not to be picked up).
I’ve read somewhere that procrastination is a disability. Yes, it is. It cripples the quality of your life, you miss so many important things (and not just piddly Actimel promotion…) if you’re not in on time.
This is why I will continue to fight procrastination vigorously.

Previously when dialing a phone I would prepare myself during several minutes (I have an induced telephonophobia).
Now, when I realize during that state that delaying that phone call is merely procrastination, I just pick up the handset and start dialing. I try to concentrate on positive aspects of doing: Getting Things Done.
And I actually have enjoyed the feeling of Having Done and Not Having Delayed. Mighty good feeling.
I will continue this fight.

Recently while reading an unorthodox psychology book I found a very revealing wording. The author referred to procrastinating as a form of psychological disability! It severely affects the life of a sufferer and even can shorten it. No less.
There are of course lots of ways to treat procrastination. One author recommends to “eat a frog every day”, early in the day. Another author advises to revise your goal list regularly and weed out the goals not moving anywhere.
But the first step in treating procrastination is to admit you’re a procrastinator and stop searching for excuses for your procrastination. Then you at least would want to do something about it.
So,
Hello, I am Maximilian and I am currently a deadbeat procrastinator. (Whew!)
And I want to do something about it in 2007 and further along the course of my life, to get more from it.
Bon voyage!
