If any of you would like to do something entirely for free for the victims of the hurricane, you could post a candle on Light-a-Candle with a few kind words. I know a lot of the victims will no longer have access to their computers, if they had any, but those who are still seeking children and relatives via the Internet may be comforted if they also look at this site.

Yes you’ve guessed it. I have now sold three of my books. Many thanks go to Beverley Smith, Wendy Smith and Trisha Richardson for purchasing these.
My other books have now been reduced even further to remain competitive. If you are interested, do check these out at the following links:

This is an update to let you know that I have just sold my first two books. I have written to thank the two ladies who have purchased these, and I hope they will allow me to post up a personal thank you at this site.

I am not a rich person. In fact I earn a mere £200 per year for doing various bits and pieces (including writing) which is about $400. However, one of my most profitable activities has been selling old books back to Amazon readers. I still want to make some money at this to support my own outdoor activities, however, I thought I might give 50% of the profit that I made on this to the Mercy Corps who are trying to look after the victims of Hurricane Katrina. I also thought that if I went to a few jumble sales and picked up a few more books, I could send a little more.
We can all help in one way or another. This will be my way. If anyone else is interested, please post details of how you are considering raising money for the victims of this hurricane.
I do NOT want this to become a high-pressure thread where people blackmail each other into giving more than they can afford. Instead, I would like it to become a positive thing where everyone tries to contribute a little in one way or another.
