Pay it Forward

a neighbor asked if I wanted his 18 hens.. nope, but I helped him find a place for them. .. also found out that he was hurtin’ for $$, so I raided our freezer, and then gave them $100 for propane – whathaveyou.

found a family of kids in my classes, and put together about $100 of food, also an ed tech got a box and a couple dozen eggs

Yesterday I went to breakfast.. off the diet, had BBpancakes, HF, OJ, etc…
anyway… a young couple came in and sat in the open booth infront of me.. the 6 month old (overheard the waitress get that answer) was LoOkInG AlL aRoUnD .. at the ceiling fan, the people, everything.. you could just see the light a-flashin’ in that new brain. calm, inspective.. the couple were very nice, smiley and polite to each other.. but not especially well heeled.
As I paid for my breakfast, I button-holed the waitress and paid for their meal, asking the waitress to just say it was from a teacher and to please read to their child nightly.
She [the waitress] almost started crying.
I recalled the couple and the child all day long in my mind.
I hope they read every night.
