Grow my hair out

so i’ve always worn my hair long, and usually layered. after my wedding, i decided to cut it. bad mistake. i brought in a picture of Nicole Richie (a fairly straight-forward, medium length bob, right). wrong. this guy went to town on my hair doing his own interpretation of this picture (which, consequently, looked NOTHING like it!). he went crazy with a razor in the back and texturized the hell out of it, and then did some weird asymmetrical thing with the rest of it, leaving the front part way longer. so once it grew out enough, i got the front cut (a different hair dresser this time!) and left the rest, so then it looked more like a normal bob, but it was too boring. so a month later i went back and asked him to layer it. well, he pretty much gave me a layered, shaggy MULLET! and now i am in in-between hair HELL. i am fighting the urge to cut it, but it’s looking more and more mullety every day. this sucks.
