and it’s BEAUTIFUL.

It has shallow roots and it doesn’t grow too big, it has peeling white bark after a few years and the leaves are the kind that let dappled sunlight through!

Our local garden centre doesn’t stock them.

Hmmmmm. I am on a quest!!!

I don’t know what it’s called, but I know what I want – it’s a smallish tree with white bark and lovely little heart-shaped leaves that are a slightly different colour on the back, so they seem to change colour when the wind blows. There is room in my (small) back garden for one, possibly two trees so I must choose with care.
