My lovely neighbour

has just decluttered my shed, while I stood eight feet away (large garden spiders in there) shouting ‘keep’ or ‘throw’...... large pile of stuff in my garden now along with lote of cuttings from ivy etc. We are getting a skip tomorrow between us, I am paying for it and he is doing the hard labour so it works out for both of us. Actually, I am definitely getting the better end of the deal. My garden looks so much bigger and brighter without the ivy overhang, but the cat is a bit uneasy about all the disturbance. Just in time too, could see several birds eyeing the tangle of ungrowth for a few days, there have been several nests in there over the years and once they settle in, I have to leave it be.

spent two hours today

going through my bookcase. Decided I could bear to part with…...ONE book :-) ah well, books are always hard to let go.

Two more bags to the local charity shop

STILL no real visable difference!! Need to be a lot more ruthless.

A bit disheartened on this goal

I just seem to be genetically incapable of getting to the bottom of my clutter. Tomorrow I will make another effort. Tonight I am wallowing. And playing around on the net, obviously!

having an exam to study for

and a project due for a college course is actually proving very useful, decluttering is the ideal distraction from the work I should be doing! Getting much more ruthles about the things I am letting go, but still very aware that I am doing a lot of pile shuffling, just moving things back and forth, back and forth….

Yet another drop off to the local cancer charity shop

the man in the staff room knows me now, and greets me personaly…. not sure if that is a good thing :-) Half the things were from my granny’s house, but at least I have decided they are not going to take up residence in my own home, and they took some of my things with them. ten books registered to be released at a bx meet up tomorrow….. still have so much stuff! HOW??

Getting there.....I think

so much stuff thrown out, so much still do go…WHERE does it all come from. Some of the things are such a struggle to release, and yet when they are gone, I don’t miss them, in fact there is a feeling of lightness as I let go of the mental clutter associated with them as well as the physical objects.

It’s slow, but I am recording each item as it goes, so I can see progress that way….in groups of 43, naturally.

It was relatively easy to send my wedding dress up to the local charity shop, but so far proving impossible to donate two posters I had on my bedroom wall as a teenager….....

Sooo nearly there now

I can almost see it!!

Home from a long weekend

in London yesterday and…oh joy….for the very first time I could SEE the difference in my house.

Just nine days to go, which is perfect for a last determined effort – having the deadline looming is very motivating!

WAH

HOW is there only 22 days left…....must focus…...
