Just see how it goes, I am going to go an entire week without generating any plastic waste. So no plastic wrap, no pre packaged foods, no plastic bags, etc. If I absoloutly must use something plastic, it will be promptly recycled.

Part of me has been doing excellently at this goal. In the past month I have only eaten out once, and denied myself a few things that I wanted.
However, I’ve been making lists on things I need to get before I leave for college in the fall. I had to trim down the list a little, because honestly, I do NOT need 4 new pairs of jeans, when 2 will suffice, etc. (Besides. I doubt I will have enough money to buy EVERYTHING that was on the original list.)
I’m pretty good at this already, but sometimes I get caught up.
I went through my closet, and found all the clothes that I either didn’t wear anymore, or clothes that didn’t fit me anymore, and I took them to the thrift store. And I managed to walk away with only two purchases from the same store. A mexican rag sweater, and red ballet flats.
This coincides with my “conserve energy” goal. So in the same fashion as that goal, there will be goals within this goal.
1. When I get the urge to go shopping, save it for a thrift store. Things are more unique there anyway. Not to mention cheap.
2. Stop, or at least seriously limit, buying food with excessive packaging.
3. Stop buying new books. Get them from used book stores and the library.
4. Reuse the backsides of old papers.
5. Remember to recycle everything.
I’m sure more goals will come as I get better at these things.
