Tomorrow, I may be entering a new crunch mode. The university class I proposed is scheduled, yet I have no official notification that I’m hired to teach it. So tomorrow I show up and find out what’s what. If it’s a go, I’ll have to leave for work at 0800 four days a week – one of them a cherished sleep in “day off” from my regular job. 0800 may not seem so bad to most folks – but Monday through Thursday I’m not expected to report to work until 1100 – and then I work until 2100. It’s going to be a fatiguing 10 weeks.
This will demand that I get militant about self-care, especially getting to bed on time. Sigh. I liked the luxury of being loose with my time.
This will compete with 43T time, too. But it’s a probable stepping stone to more teaching jobs and possibly an eventual faculty position (I hope).
So if I seem to go AWOL for a while, it’s only because I’m busy preparing lectures, grading papers, or trying to keep on top of my health goals. I promise to check in regularly – keeping up my Daily: Reflect on at least 5 things for which I'm grateful (Happiness Manifesto #2) and keeping in touch with my Empowered Glowing, Bright and Sparkly Yoga Team (Practice yoga 30 times in 30 days).
